This is a reminder that the BWF AGM is being held on Saturday 17 May 2008 at the Sultan Hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia. The AGM papers and information are now posted on a secure area of the BWF website. The papers and information will also be posted to all Members shortly. Please see link below:
BWF EGM - Reminder and Papers - 22 January 2008
This is a reminder that the BWF EGM is being held on Friday 29 February at the Hotel Istana in Kuala Lumpur. The EGM papers and information package was emailed / posted to Members in early January as per the Constitution. These are now posted on a secure area of the BWF website. See the link below.
BWF Secretary General Appointed – 22 January 2008
The BWF has announced the appointment of Stuart Borrie to the position of Secretary General, after a recruitment process which started in mid December. The BWF Council at its December meeting decided to recruit three new senior staff for the organization and to upgrade the KL and Lausanne offices.
BWF e-News – 16 January 2008
The BWF has launched a new electronic newsletter. This is a monthly e-news and will come out in the first week of every month. It is intended for Members and stakeholders in the world badminton community. The BWF will in the next two months launch a facility where people can subscribe to receive the e-News.
Rio International Challenge – 16 January 2008
The 1st Rio International Challenge scheduled from 6 to 10 February 2008 has been cancelled by the Brazil Badminton Association.
BWF Strategic Planning Process – 11 January 2008
In December 2007, the BWF Council was presented with the first draft of the BWF Strategic Plan (2008 – 2013). The BWF is seeking feedback from Continental Confederations and Members on the document.

Members and Continental Confederations have until Friday 15 February to provide feedback on the plan. It is expected the final draft will be presented to the membership at the AGM in Jakarta in May.
Line Judging Opportunity - Thomas & Uber Cup Finals – 8 January 2008
The BWF is requesting nominations for line judges to officiate at the Thomas & Uber Cup Finals 2008 in Jakarta – 11 – 18 May. A total of 10 International Line Judges will be appointed to officiate at this prestigious BWF event.
Nominations will only be accepted via National Associations. Applications close Friday, 14 March 2008.

Beijing Olympic Games Opportunity - Line Judges – 30 November 2007
The BWF is calling for nominations for Line Judges to officiate at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, A total of 10 Line Judges will be selected for this opportunity. Applications close 24 January(Malaysian time) 2008.
