April – July 2007

The last four months have been very successful for the athletes of the BWF World Training Center Saarbruecken, Germany.

Outstanding results have been achieved from April to July 2007:

One of the most successful “trophy-collector” was 23 year old Larysa Gryga from the Ukraine. She started her run on the first placings in Holland, reaching the final of the Velo Holland Open 2007.

She won the 2007 Victorian International in Australia. On her way to the title, Larysa defeated Rachel Hindley (NZL) in the semi-final, and not giving a chance to Ragna Ingolfsdottir from Iceland in the final, winning 21-11 and 21-10.
She repeated her victory, from Australia in New Zealand, winning against Chloe Magee from Ireland in the round of the last four, having a World-Training-Center-Final, by playing against Nhung Ngoc Nguyen Le from Vietnam, winning 21-19 and 21-14.

Kristina Ludikova from the Czech Republic made her way through to the semi-finals in the Netherland’ s Velo Holland Open 2007. Her opponent was the subsequent winner Kati Tolmoff from Estonia.
She was also in the semi-finals in Australia against Ragna Ingolfsdottir.

Olga Konon from Belarus was in the final of the White-Nights in Russia where she met Japans Kanako Yonekura!

Raul Must (EST) met Vladislav Druzhchenko from the Ukraine in the semi-finals of the 31st Polish International Open 2007.

Our World Training Center-players Raju Rai from the USA and Kestutis Navickas from Lithuania were both very successful in New Zealand, where they played against each other in the quarter finals. Kestutis prevailed in this match. In the semi final he had to play the local hero John Moody from NZL.

Raju achieved another good result, reaching the runner-up position at the Carebaco-International Open 2007 in Suriname where he played the subsequent winner Brice Leverdez from France. He also reached the semifinal in Australia early this month.
